Luanda, ANGOLA, February 26 - The president of the republic, João Lourenço, is to open this Monday morning the country's higher education academic year in the eastern Lunda Sul province, says a note from the Presidency that reached Angop on Sunday.,

The president is also due to assess the construction works of the future general hospital of  Saurimo city underway in candembe neighborhood.

The Head of State is being accompanied in the province by a delegation comprised by ministers of State, ministers and Office staff.

According to the Ministry of Higher Education at least 138,418 vacancies have been made available for new starters, representing an increase of 27.332 places compared to last year.

The country is currently counting on 72 Higher Education institutions 48 of them private.
