Ethiopia / AU: Angola committed to conflict prevention
Addis Ababa, ANGOLA, January 26 - On Friday, Angola pledged to share its experience in resolving conflicts with the member states of the African Union Peace and Security Council (CPSUA), which proposes to emphasize the issue of prevention.,
This fact was stressed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, by Foreign Minister Manuel Augusto, who was happy with the country's election to the presidency of the Peace and Security Council for a two-year rotating term.
The election took place at the time of the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU), which prepared the diplomas of the 30th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the continental body set for 28 and 29 January.
Angola, who entered the important body of defense and security of the continental organization for the third time, was elected in the first round together with Zimbabwe.
Angolan presidency term begins on 1 April 2018 and runs until 2020.
Regarding the stance to be adopted in these new tasks, Minister Manuel Augusto said that conflict resolution cannot be the main focus, but prevention.
Regarding the election, he is satisfied and expects for the ratification of the AU Heads of State Summit.
