Government prioritises state reform, modernisation in 2018

Luanda, ANGOLA, December 29 - The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, last Thursday stated that the State’s General Budget Draft for next year already outlines actions turned to the reform and modernisation of the state, including the reinforcement of citizenship. ,

On his yearend message to the nation, the Angolan President and head of the Executive said that the Budget Draft has into account the need to promote a more participatory society.

 

The statesman revealed that the Budget also dedicates a considerable part of the available resources to the expansion of human capital, reduction of inequalities, creation of qualified employment, reduction of regional asymmetries and diversification of the economy.  

 

João Lourenço went on to say that in three months in the office as President of Angola, he has tried to convey to government officials, the people, entrepreneurs and the international community signs of his desire of not breaking away with the past, but do away with what is not good for society and the country.

 

He spoke of the need to meet the general expectations regarding true renovation of minds and behaviours in society.

 

He also reminded his focus on young people and greater female representation in the Executive and other organs of the state, specially the judiciary.    

 

The Head of State emphasised also that it is necessary to take decisive steps to moralise the society with examples.

 

He appealed to the Angolan society to seize the opportunity of this festive season to strengthen family ties, interiorise the values of brotherhood and solidarity.

 

The Head of State advocated courage and determination to face the constraints, aiming for sustainable development and socioeconomic inclusion.

 

“We are optimistic that 2018 will be a better year for the country, for the companies, but, above all, for the families and the citizens in general, emphasised the Angolan President.
