SME repatriate illegal immigrants

Malanje, ANGOLA, December 26 - At least 199 citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have been repatriated to their country from November 2016 to November this year for illegal stay in northern Malanje province, said Tuesday the director of Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), Laureano Dias dos Santos.,

The official who was speaking to ANGOP, said that the repatriations had taken place at the Tembo-Aluma border post in the municipality of Marimba and, compared to the previous period, there was a decrease of 110 cases, due to the strategies of SME to fight the illegal immigration.

He also said that the period under review, SME sent 19 citizens to the Center for the Detention of Illegal  immigration in Luanda, including 8 Vietnamese, 2 Guinean Conakry citizens, 2 from Sao Tome , 2 Chadians, 1 Gambian,  1 Chinese, 1 from Ivory Cost , 1 from Sierra Leone  and another Mauritanian, for legal matters .

On the other hand, the institution recorded 10 cases of illegal immigration assistance involving national citizens, whose cases were  sent to the Public Prosecution Service for judgment purposes.
