Zimbabwe Foreign Minister ends official visit

Luanda, ANGOLA, December 18 - Zimbabwe's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Subusiso Moyo, Monday ended two-days working visit to Angola which focused on aspects related to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation relations, after the events that led former President Robert Mugabe to quit the country's leadership in November.,

The Zimbabwean head of diplomacy arrived in Luanda last Sunday, with a delegation that met officially with his counterpart, Manuel Augusto, and was then received in audience granted by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, with whom he also analyzed the current situation in Zimbabwe.

In November, following the onset of the political crisis in Zimbabwe, Luanda hosted an Extraordinary Troika Summit (Angola, Tanzania and Zambia) of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Political Cooperation, Defense and Security Agency. As the current chairman of this body, Angola is actively monitoring the developments in Zimbabwe.

Robert Mugabe, 93, resigned after 37 years in power following a military uprising, after sacking the long-time vice president and ally Emmerson Mnangagwa, then vice president of the country.
