Angola: 2018 Budget reduces public accounts deficit

Luanda, ANGOLA, December 15 - The State Budget proposal for 2018 which reached Friday the Parliament for debate and approval by MPs presents a reduction in public accounts deficit of 2.9 percent against 5.3 compared to 2017 ,

 

This was said by the leader of the Economy and Finance Commission of National Assembly, Diógenes de Oliveira.

 

He said that the Executive will do its best to mitigate debt burden.

According to him, the reduction of the deficit to 2.9 percent, compared to that of 5.3 in 2017, shows that there is a decreasing trend.

 

The official believes that 2018 Budget has a strong social focus and will give priority to the real sector of the economy, because there is no economic growth without reviving the economy.

 

The official recalled that the last few years have not been good, especially since 2014.

 

He added that 2018 Budget presents economic growth of 4.9 percent. This means that there is an effort to revive our economy, which is crucial to political and economic stability."

 

The 2018 State Budget comprises revenues and expenses estimated at AKz 9.6 trillion.
