• Monterrey generated the largest increase in traffic

MONTERREY, Mexico, Dec. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V., known as OMA (NASDAQ:OMAB) (BMV:OMA), reports that terminal passenger traffic at its 13 airports increased 2.3% in November 2017, as compared to November 2016. Domestic traffic increased 2.5%, and international traffic increased 1.2%.

Domestic traffic increased in six airports, with the largest increases in:

• Monterrey (+5.8%; +39,898 passengers), with 50% of OMA’s domestic traffic, benefitted mostly from increases on the Cancún, Toluca, and Querétaro routes.
• Culiacán (+13.5%; +21,425), OMA’s second largest airport with 12% of domestic traffic, increased as a result of higher traffic on the Tijuana and Guadalajara routes.

During November, Volaris opened the Monterrey – Cozumel, Monterrey – Huatulco, and Monterrey – Mexicali routes; and VivaAerobus opened the Culiacán – Tijuana route.

International traffic grew in eight airports in November, with the largest increases in Mazatlán (+6.7%; +1,687 passengers), as a result of increased traffic on the Calgary route; and Monterrey (+1.4%; +1,389) as a result of traffic on the Atlanta route.

During the month, Aeroméxico opened the Monterrey – Atlanta route.

Of total November traffic, 98.8% was commercial aviation and 1.2% was general aviation.
