Huambo: Police prepare security measures

Huambo, ANGOLA, December 4 - The new delegate of the Ministry of the Interior to the central Huambo Province, Commissioner Eduardo Fernandes Cerqueira, last Thursday called on the local corporation to strengthen the levels of discipline, organisation and the respectability in wearing the police uniform, with a view to correcting and avoiding practices that can taint the institution. ,

The police commander was speaking at a meeting with members of the Consultative Council of the Ministry of the Interior, having showed on the occasion his concern over the behaviour of some police officers.

He underscored that it was necessary for the corporation to adopt an appropriate posture, which can conquer the respect of citizens.

He also defended that the institution needs to strengthen its relationship with chieftains and community agents, in the ambit of the actions relating to crime prevention.

“Discipline has to be our main focus, but we should not forget about our technical-professional upgrading either”, he underlined.
