Luanda, ANGOLA, November 23 - Angolan head of State, João Lourenço, defended on Thursday, within the framework of the moralization of society, the fight against practices of managers and public officials that harm the public interest, the State and citizens.,
The Head of State was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Sebastião Domingos Gunza as the inspector general of the State Administration.
During the ceremony, Beatriz Alberto Quitambe Fernandes, Rosa Luís de Sousa Micolo and Maria Isabel Fernandes Tormenta dos Santos took over the positions of Assistant Inspectors General of the State Administration, as well as Bartolomeu Nunes in the position of Deputy Director of the Ceremonial of the President of the Republic.
President João Lourenço hopes that the much-publicized impunity in public services will have its days counted.
He added that "gradually we will move towards reduction and later to the elimination of impunity."
Joao Lourenço believes that the team of the General Inspectorate of the State can perform well in the fight against harmful practices, due to the experience of its members.
The Inspector General of State Administration, who at the time of his appointment was Deputy Director General of the Criminal Investigation Service, said that he had received "clear instructions” to put an end to bad practices and vices in public administration.
He declined to go into detail, reminding that his office would be responsible for inspecting, supervising, and auditing the General Administration of the State and would not disappoint the President of the Republic.
Sebastião Gunza is Commissioner of the National Police and has already served as inspector general of the Ministry of Interior and director of the Office of Studies, Information and Analysis of that same institution.
