Minister highlights new ID card innovative features
Luanda, ANGOLA, November 20 - The innovative features of the new Identity Card (ID) was highlighted Monday in Luanda by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Francisco Queiróz, who chaired the ID official launch ceremony.,
Francisco Queiroz, said that the document marks an innovation, because it has the capacity to store information that the current one does not have. "In addition to their number, we can incorporate the taxpayer card, social security number, voter card and, in the near future, other data."
He added that the new ID has a code, called QR that allows anyone, whether authorities or private, to read the data and the information contained therein.
"We are in the presence of an innovation, of a modern aspect, because nowadays the ID of the most developed countries has this characteristic and in Angola we are also introducing it, "he said.
Minister Francisco Queiróz pointed out that the previous ID still remain valid "and will continue until the end of their validity period, only those people whose documents need to be renewed or those who have lost them, as well as those who apply them for the first time.”
The issue of the new ID will be gradual and will run until the end of January 2018.
