An unveiling ceremony for the Russia – My History multimedia park was held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

The ceremony was attended by Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Sakhalin Region, Roman Balashov, representative of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, Archbishop Tikhon of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Kuril Islands, Vladimir Krokha, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Valery Shakhov, Head of the Sakhalinskoye Pipeline Operation Center of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, honorary citizens of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and the Sakhalin Region, and veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

The regional multimedia complex is part of a large-scale cultural, patriotic and educational project carried out in Russian regions with the backing of Gazprom.

The historical park in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk comprises four large halls and some 86 exhibition spaces. The multimedia exhibitions were created using largely innovative visual technologies, such as video graphics, animation, 3D modeling, and digital recreations.

The exhibition area is divided into four sections: “Rurikids,” “Romanovs,” “1917–1945. From Great Upheavals to the Great Victory,” and “Russia – My History. 1945–2016.” Special importance is placed on regional content generated in cooperation with local history experts and leading researchers of the Sakhalin Region. The architectural design of the building was developed by the Sakhalingrazhdanproject Institute.

“Our company is actively helping Sakhalin’s youth in gaining new knowledge and learning to respect work and the environment. Together with the younger generation, we are striving to strengthen Russian cultural and patriotic traditions. Today, we are happy to congratulate the people of Sakhalin on a remarkable event – the unveiling of a new historical park, which provides an excellent opportunity to experience the unique and rich history of our Fatherland,” said Vladimir Krokha.
