Huíla may contribute to accelerate economic diversification - President

ANGOLA, November 13 - This was said Saturday in Matala municipality, southern Huíla province, by the Angolan president João Lourenço.

The head of State was speaking at the main event of the celebration of the 42nd anniversary of the National Independence (11 November), held in Matala.

He said that agriculture has excellent conditions to develop and the mining and industrial sectors are established on stable bases.

The president added that the hotels infrastructure and natural beauty of the region are a guarantee that the province could, in the short term, attract local and foreign tourists.

President João Lourenço underlined that with the railroad rebuilt and extended to southeastern Cuando Cubango province, with a functional airports, roads and bridges under rehabilitation, Huíla could make an important contribution to the flow of people and goods.

João Lourenço promised to pay regularly visits to the countryside as part of an open presidency, with a view to a closer relationship between the Government and the people.
