Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the temporary (approximately 1 year) Accounting Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of cost data, analysis of actual results vs budget vs forecast, effectively communicating results to stakeholders within the organization, and ensuring all financial deadlines and audit requirements are met.  This position will complete account reconciliations, journal entries, cost processing, budgeting, forecasting, audit compliance, and other accounting duties as assigned, while providing leadership and guidance within the department.

The successfully candidate is required to have a diploma or certificate in Business Administration or a related field, with 2-4 years of accounting experience.  The candidate must have good written and verbal skills, and competency in MS Office programs.  The candidate must have a proven ability to lead and develop others by demonstrating superior skills in coaching and mentoring.  Knowledge of Oracle would be an asset. 

The successful candidate may be required to undergo a background check.  All safety sensitive positions require a substance test in accordance with PotashCorp policy.
