Egypt wants to increase cooperation with Angola
Luanda, ANGOLA, November 9 - Egypt intends to increase its relations with Angola to ensure south-south cooperation aimed at promoting reciprocal investments and strengthening ties of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries and peoples. ,
The intention was expressed by the special envoy of Egyptian President, Ahmed Ihad, during a meeting with chargé d'affairs of Angolan Embassy in that country, Hilário Liconga.
During the audience, held at the Angolan diplomatic mission in Cairo, Ahmed Ihad congratulated, on behalf of his statesman, Abdel-Fattah El -Sisi, the Angolans on the 42nd anniversary of National Independence to be commemorated on 11 November.
Ahmed Ihad also conveyed his President's congratulation to the Angolan statesman, João Lourenço, on his recent election to the post of President of the Republic of Angola.
In his urn, Hilário Liconga, who represented the ambassador António da Costa Fernandes at the audience, thanked the Egyptian authorities for their move.
He said that the Angolan Executive responded positively to the invitation to attend the 2017 African Economic Forum scheduled for 6-9 December this year in Sharm El-Sheikh city.
Hilário Liconga also reaffirmed Angola's interest in seeing an Angolan-Egyptian Business Forum held in Cairo next year and the signing of a new Agreement on Technical and Scientific Cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed the transition process between José Eduardo dos Santos and João Lourenço in the Presidency of Republic of Angola, following the 23 August general elections.
Angola has been represented in Egypt since 1976.
