An opening ceremony for the Russia – My History park took place yesterday in Tyumen. The regional multimedia history complex was set up as part of an extensive cultural, patriotic and educational project carried out across Russia with the backing of Gazprom.
The ceremony was attended by Vladimir Yakushev, Governor of the Tyumen Region, Sanal Badmaev, Head of the Department for Relations with the Regional Authorities of the Ural and Volga Federal Districts under the Presidential Domestic Policy Directorate of the Presidential Executive Office, Sergey Morev, Assistant to the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District, Metropolitan Dimitry of Tobolsk and Tyumen, Ivan Yesin, Managing Director of the Foundation for Humanitarian Projects, Anatoly Kovrigin, Deputy Director General of Gazprom Geologorazvedka, Sergey Skornyakov, Director General of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Sever, and other officials.
In his opening speech, Vladimir Yakushev thanked a number of organizations and entities, including Gazprom, for their support in the project. “It is thanks to their efforts that we have a very good, interesting and state-of-the-art interactive center in our regional capital. I am sure that it will be hugely popular among the residents of our region and our guests,” he said.
During their tour of the new museum, visitors saw an interactive exhibition covering 7,000 square meters. The exhibition area was divided into four sections: “Rurikids,” “Romanovs,” “1917–1945. From Great Upheavals to the Great Victory,” and “Russia – My History. 1945–2016.” The museum’s concept includes regional content with an insight into the history of the region in the context of the abovementioned periods and the themes of the exhibition.
The first guests of the history park viewed a demonstration of cutting-edge equipment, such as touch-sensitive screens and lightboxes, and tried their hand at the video infographics, animation, 3D modeling and digital reconstruction tools available in the new museum format.

I am confident that Gazprom’s contribution to the creation of this unique park will help preserve our historical memory for many generations to come. It’s worth noting that the creators of the exhibition used the language of the new generation by immersing visitors in the past via the technologies of the future,” said Anatoly Kovrigin, Deputy Director General of Gazprom Geologorazvedka.

Gazprom Geologorazvedka is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom engaged in the whole range of exploration activities aimed at prospecting for new onshore and offshore hydrocarbon fields and deposits in the Russian Federation, as well as follow-up exploration and pre-development of reserves in the existing fields.
