Mary Hart to Host Birthday Gala Saluting the King of TV Talk Larry King at the Montage in Beverly Hills

Alliance and honor legendary broadcaster, LARRY KING, Joanne Lara, AMT president and a pioneer in autism education, announced today.
The gala event, honoring King with its “2017 Humanitarian Award,” on the occasion of his 84th Birthday, will be held Sunday, November 11, at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel,
Mary Hart hosted Entertainment Tonight from 1982 to 2011, which is a record setting number of years hosting a magazine show. On August 5, 2010, Hart announced that she was leaving the show at the end of the upcoming 30th season. Hart’s final episode aired on May 20, 2011—ending her 29-year history with the program.
Mary was honored with the first ever Entertainment Tonight Icon Award in October of 2015. Other recipients were Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks.
Mary also received a “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Daytime Emmys in April, has a star on the Hollywood “Walk of Fame” and is immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds.
She is actively involved as a member of the Board of Trustees of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and was co-chair of the New Hospital Building Campaign Committee, working tirelessly to open the new building five years ago. Mary serves on the Board of Trustees for the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Board of Directors for the Museum of Tolerance.
AMT will also salute DR. TEMPLE GRANDIN with the Trailblazer Award, to be presented by Laura San Giacomo, and TIMOTHY SYKES as the Visionary Entrepreneur for 2017.
Special guest, Tony Award winning actor Joe Mantegna, will be one of many celebrity supporters appearing on stage to honor these outstanding individuals.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Autism Movement Therapy and the Autism Works Now program - specifically for the new D.R.E.A.M Alliance residential project with employment opportunities for young adults with autism and related differences.
