Gazprom and OMV organize a new event within cultural partnership cooperation

Release

A new landmark event within joint cultural project between PAO Gazprom and Austrian OMV AG – the theatrical gala performance “Imperial Capitals: Saint Petersburg – Vienna: Symphony of Letters and Poems” – took place today at the Grand Hall of Dmitry Shostakovich St.Petersburg Academic Philharmonia.

This performance has become the central cultural event of the Saint Petersburg International Gas Forum. Among the guests were Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of PAO Gazprom Alexander Medvedev and OMV CEO Rainer Seele as well as heads of major international companies. Children from social institutions of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region were also invited to the event.

This year the main focus of the “Imperial Capitals: St. Petersburg – Vienna” event was on the legacy of Russian and Austrian poets. Their poetic works have gained a new edge in harmony with music. A synthesis of different art forms, eternal plots and modern ways of self-expression allowed to show to the audience the full versatility of the unique cultural heritage of St. Petersburg and Vienna – two imperial capitals.

Money raised from the ticket sale will be donated to charity foundation that supports medical treatment for children.

In response, the next cultural event within the project will be held on December 14th, 2017, in imperial Hofburg Palace of Vienna.
