LM Speakers Bureau Promotes STEM
In an ongoing effort to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics studies and careers, the Office of Legacy Management (LM) launched a Speakers Bureau with the intent of offering scientific presentations to colleges and universities in areas of LM activity. LM maintains a growing list of options from which professors can choose to fit their curriculum. Several lectures are already scheduled at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado, for the 2017 fall semester. Lectures include a broad range of subjects including environmental ethics, hydrology, geochemistry, coding, modeling, geospatial applications, and specific case studies. The 2017 series kicks off on October 5 with a presentation titled “Using Geophysics to Locate Monitor Wells,” by LM contractor, Dr. Rex Hodges.
