Supplies of the Russian natural gas to Croatia are resuming on a long-term basis

Gazprom Export LLC and the Croatian Prvo plinarsko društvo d.o.o. signed a long-term contract on natural gas supplies for the period from 1 October 2017 to 31 December 2027. The annual supply volume within the contract amounts to 1 billion cubic meters, and 0.25 bcm is to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2017.
“Signing a long-term contract on gas supplies to Croatia is a result of a fruitful cooperation of Gazprom Export LLC and of Prvo plinarsko društvo d.o.o. This contract follows the agreement between Gazprom export LLC and Prvo plinarsko društvo d.o.o. for the supply of natural gas in the first three quarters of 2017. Within it up to 1,48 bcm of gas will have been delivered to Croatia by the end of September, 2017.
Background
In 2012–2016, supplies of natural gas to Croatia were performed by Gazprom Schweiz AG.
Before that, the Russian natural gas had been supplied to Croatia under the contracts of Gazprom export LLC and the INA Industrija Nafte Company (Prirodni Plin d.o.o. since 2009). The long-term contract signed on 24 May 2005 provided for the annual delivery to Croatia of up to 1.2 bcm of natural gas through 2010. All obligations of the parties have been fulfilled in full. In all, more than 20 bcm of natural gas have been supplied to Croatia between 1992 and 2010.
