Bridgestone Participates in FIM EWC 2017-2018

Tokyo (September 15, 2017)-Bridgestone Corporation today announced that it will supply tires to F.C.C. TSR Honda France and YART Yamaha Official EWC Team in the FIM(Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) Endurance World Championship(EWC) 2017-2018 season.

The two Bridgestone-backed teams finished the last 2016 - 2017 EWC season strongly: Austrian-based YART Yamaha Official EWC Team moved up to 3rd place in final standings (having been 13th when Bridgestone started supplying tyres early in 2017), while the F.C.C. TSR Honda team finished in 4th place. In this season, we will strongly support both teams to win the races by closer cooperation with teams and using the experience in the last season.

The EWC is a worldwide championship competition consisting of five endurance races that take place across the globe. The series will visit France twice, and will also make stops in Slovakia, Germany, and Japan to close out the season. This series’ races last 8 or 24 hours, during which each team’s riders (up to three riders per team) alternate riding duties, with the team covering the longest distance in the given timeframe being declared as the winner. Points are awarded based on the teams’ performances in each race, and the team that accrues the most points over the 5-race schedule is named the champion.
