Alexey Miller and Alexander Kozlov discuss Gazprom’s ongoing projects in Amur Region

Release

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Alexander Kozlov, Governor of the Amur Region, took place today at the Eastern Economic Forum 2017 in Vladivostok.

The parties discussed the progress of Gazprom’s strategic projects in the region.

Particular attention was paid to the construction of the Amur gas processing plant. In August, the Company launched the main phase of the construction project, namely the establishment of the key gas processing facilities. Works are underway to erect the relevant infrastructure: a wharf on the Zeya River, railway communications, and temporary housing for construction workers. The GPP will contribute to the formation of a major industrial cluster in the Amur Region, creating some 3,000 new jobs. Local educational institutions are among the entities Gazprom is interacting with to train professionals for the future facility.

The Company is actively building the Power of Siberia gas trunkline, including its Amur Region-based section. The pipeline, which is slated to be brought into operation in late 2019, will help facilitate new network gas connections across the region. Surveys are underway for an inter-settlement pipeline stretching to the Vostochny Cosmodrome.

Gazprom’s draft gasification program for the Amur Region until 2026 is being finalized by the regional government.

The meeting also touched upon the Company’s efforts for developing the Amur Region’s social infrastructure. It is planned to build four sports and health centers, a horse riding school, and a number of multi-purpose sports grounds and school stadiums in the region within the Gazprom for Children program.

Background

Gazprom and the Government of the Amur Region are bound by the Cooperation Agreement.

The Amur GPP with a design capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year is under construction near Svobodny in the Amur Region. The GPP will include the world’s largest helium production facility. The plant will be supplied via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline with multi-component gas from the Yakutia and Irkutsk gas production centers being set up by Gazprom as part of the Eastern Gas Program.
