Harlow Aerostructures and Verocel Achieve FAA Certification Approval of HAT-05 Autothrottle System

WESTFORD, MA, UNITED STATES, September 5, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Verocel®, a leader in airborne software and complex hardware certification and Harlow Aerostructures, a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Wichita KS, announced that Harlow’s HAT-05 Autothrottle system has received FAA approval. Designed for use on general aviation aircraft with full-authority electronic digital controls (FADEC), the HAT-05 interfaces with automatic flight control systems and flight management systems to reduce pilot workload and improve engine efficiency.

The HAT-05 is the latest autothrottle design from Harlow Aerostructures and is designed for use with twin engine, technically advanced aircraft in either an OEM or retrofit application. The HAT-05 reduces pilot workload by managing the engine’s fuel parameters for all flight conditions. It uses inputs from the autopilot and flight management computer to ensure maximum efficiency. Harlow designed the hardware and software and needed a partner to assist in meeting the stringent objectives for software certification. Verocel's expertise in software verification and validation ensured that the HAT-05 software could meet DO-178C objectives.
