German Language Teachers Invited For Advanced Training to Germany

Ms Gerchia Louw and Ms Tahnée Horenburg have been invited to Germany by the German Pedagogical Exchange Service (Pädagogischer Austauschdienst, PAD) to participate in a 2 to 3 weeks advanced training for German language teachers from Africa and other countries. The program is organized in the framework of the PASCH Initiative (Schools: Partners for the Future), which was initiated by former German Foreign Minister and current German Federal President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier in 2008 in order to create interest in Germany, German society and the German language among young people from other countries.

The two teachers of the Deutsche Höheren Privatschule Windhuk (DHPS) will be trained in teaching methods and techniques and will be able to sit in classes and observe lessons at a German school.

On 26 July 2017, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Namibia, Christian Schlaga presented Mrs Louw and Mrs Horenburg with their letters of invitation at the embassy.
