Concurrent Technologies Corporation Awarded Subcontract to Support Development of Ammunition Demilitarization Software Package
Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) has begun work on a subcontract to support the demilitarization of Department of Defense (DoD) conventional ammunition, under the U.S. Army Program Executive Office Ammunition and its Project Director Joint Services. This $200,000 subcontract runs through February 28, 2018.

In coordination with prime contractor Azimuth Consulting Services, Inc., CTC will identify requirements for a new multi-variable demilitarization optimization software package to replace the current software. CTC will create a Software Requirements Technical Report to be used to document key performance characteristics and desired attributes of any new or modified software system. CTC will also prepare a cost estimate for the development and testing of new or modified software, including integration into an existing Army network Enterprise Resource Planning program.

The task of decreasing the military’s munitions stockpile is enormous, and CTC’s work in this process will help determine how to best demilitarize this conventional ammunition in the most efficient way possible,” said Edward J. Gino Spinos, Director, Environmental & Process Engineering, CTC, added that this contract is just a part of the ammunition lifecycle support that CTC provides to the DoD. “This specific project is focused on developing design requirements for a software tool to produce a 1- to 10-year plan for optimized demilitarization activities relating to cost, logistics, location, and more,” said Spinos.
