Dr. Dennis Lox Moderates Expert Panel on Sports Medicine and Stem Cells In Aspen Meeting

Dr. Dennis Lox an expert in the use of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Therapy in sports medicine, moderated and was a guest Lecturer of a world renown expert scientific panel at the 2nd Annual International Perinatal Stem Cell Society Conference in Aspen, Colorado on February 25, 2016. The panel included Dr. Rocky Tuan the Director of Cellular and Molecular Engineering of the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Orthopaedic's and Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic's, and the Associate Director McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, Dr. Mikel Sanchez a renown Orthopaedic Sports Medicine surgeon in Vitoria, Spain and Platelet Rich Plasma expert, and Dr. Curtis Cetrulo Jr. a Plastic Surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Cetrulo lectured on Wounded Warriors. Dr. Lox served as the Sports Medicine Moderator, and Lectured on Sports Medicine and Stem Cell Therapy.

Dr. Lox discussed the use of stem cells in the treatment of athletes with knee, hip, shoulder and ankle complaints, as well as the use of stem cells in athletes with avascular necrosis (AVN).

Dr. Rocky Tuan discussed discussed Skeletal Tissue Engineering and Modeling with Stem Cells and Biometric Materials.

Dr. Mikel Sanchez discussed the various uses of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) in athletic situations and peri-operative treatment in various sports medicine situations.

Dr. Curtis Cetrulo Jr. discussed the applications of stem cells for the treatment of wounded warriors.

Following the lectures, an expert question and answer session ensued. The lectures were a prelude to how integrating Regenerative Medicine science may apply to future cases with Perinatal stem cell applications, and exemplified the current context of treatment and future directions for elite athletic sports medicine.

Dr. Lox attended the University of Arizona where he was Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi.
