New Permanent Representative of Tanzania presents credentials

The new Permanent Representative of the United Republic of Tanzania to the United Nations (Vienna), James Alex Msekela, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career Mr. Msekela has served in various capacities, among them:

Ambassador to Italy and non-resident Ambassador to Turkey and Greece, Permanent Representative to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) (2012), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and World Food Programme (WFP), Rome (2012-2016); Member of Parliament, Tanzania (2000-2010); Regional Commissioner for the Mwanza Region (2006-2009); Regional Commissioner for Dodoma Region (until 2011).

Mr. Msekela is married and has three children.
