Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Describing PotashCorp as “a longtime titan in corporate reporting,” Canada’s professional accountants have recognized the company with their 2016 Award of Excellence in Financial Reporting.  

PotashCorp received the honor from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) at a gala event Wednesday evening in Toronto.  

“A widely recognized leader in high-quality corporate reporting, PotashCorp narrated a well-organized and complete story that went above and beyond in explaining the company’s strategies, risks, uncertainties, forecasts and outcomes,” the judges said.  

CPA Canada annually presents Awards of Excellence in Corporate Reporting. In the Financial Reporting category, several areas are evaluated, including the message to investors – how the company outlines its mission and growth strategy; presentation of management’s discussion and analysis and the annual financial statements; and how much specific, measurable information is provided on its performance scorecard.  

In the past 24 years, PotashCorp has won a total of 50 corporate reporting awards from CPA Canada, which are considered the most prestigious in the country. Categories include financial reporting, electronic disclosure, corporate governance disclosure and sustainability reporting.
