With violent incidents at schools increasing every year, the need for a protective barrier is more important than ever. Security window film is a less expensive yet effective option to replacing windows with bullet resistant glass. Thicker than normal glass combined with a proper installation process, it provides an essential obstacle against threats to the students.

This project was made possible by the assistance of federal grants. Every elementary school in the district will have extra protection against intruders and flying glass caused by accidents or weather.

AP Tinting will be installing Madico SafetyShield® 1500 window film using the Wet Glaze Anchoring System to the ground floor windows and front entrance doors of 23 Carroll County Elementary Schools. This system is designed to absorb an impact and redistribute the force over the whole window, reducing the possibility of the glass shattering. It also takes a lot longer for an intruder to enter the building, increasing the time police have to respond and intervene.
