An inspirational story about a large Irish Catholic family and of parents raising children in a positive light, “Raised with Praise” is written as a tribute to Callaghan’s parents and captures stories from his parents, brothers and sisters.

Grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Callaghan has worked since 1980 in his family’s business in Osseo as a Solids Processing Engineer. He wrote and self-published “Raised with Praise” in 2009. In 2015, he was nominated as founding President of the Chippewa Valley Local Authors. He and his wife, Laurel, live in Eau Claire and recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They are blessed with four wonderful children.

On the day Callaghan was born in 1960, his mother was asked by the doctor what she’s going to do differently with her ninth child. Her mom replied, “I’m going to raise him with praise.” Callaghan is a product of that profound approach to parenting and continued that approach when he and his wife raise their four children. He looks at the positives in life because that’s how he was raised from day one.
