The contract includes a one-year base period of performance with two one-year option periods.

Services to be provided by the contractor include, but are not limited to: project management principles, review and settlement of contract claims, preparation of presentation materials, construction management expertise, expert testimony for deposition and trial, drafting expert reports, and advisement on strategies and tactics during the trial and ADR process.

The initial purpose of the SPRU field office located at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) in Niskayuna, New York was research of the REDOX and PUREX chemical processes to extract uranium and plutonium from irradiated uranium. These operations contaminated the SPRU facilities and environmental media, resulting in the need to remediate the SPRU site. The mission is now focused on obtaining all services for deactivation, demolition, and removal of the SPRU nuclear facilities; cleanup and environmental restoration of the underlying and surrounding contaminated soil; and, decontamination of piping tunnel connecting the SPRU facilities to other operating facilities.
