Activist and Families who have lost love ones through Police Action demand a Repeal of the Peace officers Bill of Rights.

SAN LEANDRO, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, August 4, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A Group of Activist and Family Members from throughout California will hold a Rally & Protest on August 18, 2016 at the Governor's Mansion in Sacramento. The purpose of the action is to demand the Repeal of the Peace Officers Bill of Rights. The families will speak out about their loved ones whose lives were taken by Police Action. Rarely is an Officer arrested or prosecuted in these cases. The action will start be from 9 am - 2 pm. The bill protects Law Enforcement Officers from Prosecution by withholding previous offenses. The families contend that the Bill is unnecessary as Law Enforcement has the protection of DA's and Courts and are seldom prosecuted. Once an Officer kills or impairs someone Victims Assistance offers no help or assistance to the family. It is a double slap in the face that elected officials and the Governor signed this Bill into existence. — Frederick Douglass
The contention is When not being killed out right blacks and brown people are wrongfully prosecuted and/or given disproportionate sentences to other offenders. This Action is meant to bring attention to these disparities and encourage the Legislature and Governor Brown to repeal the Peace Officers Bill of Rights! There is also an online petition gathering signatures to repeal this bill!
