Due to water supply concerns following the recent oil spill in the North Saskatchewan River, all visits are temporarily cancelled at Saskatchewan Penitentiary, a multi-level security federal institution.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is working with local authorities in order to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

The facility continues to operate on a modified routine, and is not under lockdown.

The safety and security of the institutions is the Correctional Service of Canada's (CSC) primary concern. Normal visits will resume as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
