BubbleNut Wash Launches Natural Soap Nuts for Chemical-free Laundry Crowdfunding Campaign
Creating a soap that grows on trees
BubbleNut Wash work with rural women in the remote parts of India who collect, sort, grade, dry and pack soap nuts; a fruits with soap properties that grows on the Himalayan and peninsular Indian forests. Their soap properties make them a natural laundry detergent that don't pollute the environment and is specially indicated for people with sensitive skins and to wash delicate clothes. The market access allows rural women to generate additional income during the lean periods of harsh summer.
The funds raised with the crowdfunding campaign will help buy the primary natural product (soap nuts), pay for the salary of rural women in India and pay for new equipment and product development.
The final expected impact is to create a financially self-sustaining social enterprise that would double the income of 100 women permanently without needing any further funding. It aims to sell 2700 kg of BubbleNut Wash over the next 12 months, to avoid the release of 8000 - 11,000 kg of chemical detergents into United Kingdom's sewage system and help empower local women’s communities in India.
