Construction of two railway stations and tracks for Amur GPP launched in Svobodnensky District

July 11, 2016, 13:50

The construction of railway infrastructure facilities within the Amur gas processing plant (GPP) construction project has been launched in Svobodnensky District (Amur Region). Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk is the project owner and investor, with NIPIgazopererabotka as the general construction contractor.

SvyazStroyMontazh won the bid to construct the railway track section from the Ust-Pyora public station to the production site of the Amur GPP. The company will carry out design, preparatory and excavation works; set up the permanent way, utility networks and equipment; and erect engineering structures, buildings, and railroad infrastructure facilities.

A number of permanent railway infrastructure facilities will be built for the Amur GPP with a view to transport 2.4 million tons of cargo per year. The planned facilities include a bridge over the Bolshaya Pyora River, an overpass across the motor road, private railway lines with a length of some 45 kilometers, and two railway stations – Zavodskaya and Zavodskaya 2 – located next to the Amur GPP facilities and the Ust-Pyora station.

Background

The construction of the Amur GPP started in 2015. The plant will be the largest natural gas processing facility in Russia and one of the biggest such plants in the world. It will have an annual design capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas. The GPP will also include the world’s largest helium production facility with an annual output of up to 60 million cubic meters.
