On behalf of President Obama and the American people, I want to convey our best wishes to the people of the Republic of Malawi on the 52nd anniversary of your country’s independence on July 6.
The United States is pleased to work with you through the Millennium Challenge Compact and other programs to address a wide range of issues, including economic development, access to electricity, agricultural productivity and improved health. We support your government’s commitment to reform and to promoting regional security and peace.
The United States places a high value on its friendship with your country and we look forward to further enhancing our relationship in years to come.
