Taipei, 02 June 2016: GlocalMe, the innovative leaders in Cloud SIM technology, have entered into a distribution deal with Thai-Yu Intelligent Systems Service Co. LTD - which is fully owned by Join-Power Telecom, a local telecoms company in Taiwan.
GlocalMe products use Cloud SIM technology to create a simple and affordable Wi-Fi hotspot that can be used worldwide. The first GlocalMe product to launch in Taiwan is the GlocalMe G2 device – the world’s first 4G Cloud SIM Wi-Fi hotspot.
The device is smart, sleek and portable and is a must-have travel accessory – perfect for both business and leisure travellers. The G2 can connect up to five devices simultaneously therefore allowing a data sharing pool, supporting an enterprise portal, offering a secure network and mobile VPN – ideal for small businesses and enterprises that need a safe and efficient digital collaboration.
The GlocalMe G2 supports Cloud SIM access to international roaming at local rates in over 100 countries worldwide - making it an attractive device to enterprises and businesses globally. GlocalMe will target a range of users through its new distribution partnership with Thai-Yu Intelligent Systems Service Co. LTD - including telecom customers, rental businesses, travel and tourism.
The first collaboration in Taiwan will be with AURORA, which will incorporate the GlocalMe G2 as part of its rental service – giving business travellers pocket Wi-Fi on the go. This is a core area that GlocalMe is looking to penetrate, with the help of Thai-Yu Intelligent Systems Service Co. LTD, in the Taiwan market, so that users can pick up a device on loan when travelling in and out of Taiwan.
Mr Bob Hsu, General Manager at Thai-Yu Intelligent Systems Service Co. LTD, commented on the deal: “We are exceptionally pleased to be working with GlocalMe to offer Taiwanese consumers more choice and wider access to purchase their devices. We continually strive to offer all our retail partners a leading edge portfolio – which I firmly believe that the GlocalMe proposition helps to enhance. The end user’s cost saving comparison when compared to other, less reliable, options speaks volumes. Savvy Taiwanese shoppers will certainly be investing in a GlocalMe.”
Kenneth Chau, President in APAC at uCloudlink, the company behind GlocalMe, commented: “This is a very strategic deal opening many opportunities for us in the Taiwanese market. The exhibition has also come at a great time and is the ideal opportunity for us to showcase our product and services to this key market – we are very keen to grow our business within this sector. Our technology platform creates new market opportunities for our business partners and can be used in many ways - people want to get online, quickly, safely and with ease, without being charged a fortune and we offer this solution. The benefit to the enterprise customer is very lucrative - as a better connected workforce will impact on productivity, profit and performance.”
