Washington author impels truth conquers all
Author Kenneth G. Old and Patty Old West spark readers a story of truth, fantasy, and magic in juvenile fiction, “The Wizard of Wozzle.”
A tale of imagination, daydream, and adventure, “The Wizard of Wozzle” is an interesting children’s book about a twelve-year-old boy who grows up to become a wizard.
“My English husband, Kenneth, told these stories to missionary children in Pakistan. When he retired, he began writing them down. Over the next seven years, the story blossomed into twelve volumes. Unable to get them published in England, I edited them for an American audience. Over the next five years, all twelve volumes have been put on the market by Tate Publishing,” shares West on the inspiration behind the book.
“It's an adventure-packed book that promotes truthfulness and great, wonderful imagination for kids,” states Stacy Baker, Acquisitions Editor for Tate Publishing.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available upon its release, through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Kenneth G. Old was born in Cornwall which features prominently in this book. When Patty married him, she became Patty Old. After his death, she later married Roy West which is why her pen name is Patty Old West. It is not made up name. Her three daughters are a great help to her in editing the books.
Patty Old West was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Central City. She moved to Richland, Washington in 1945, graduated from Columbia High School, and got her teaching degree at Washington State College. She had five children, three girls and two boys. Ken had two boys, Tim and Colin, who she considers her sons. Mr. West had four children, two boys, and two girls, so her family has expanded again. Mr. West graduated from high school in the same class she did in 1949 and they got married just before their sixtieth class reunion.
