System Advisor Model Training for Tribes
Date: 6/7/2016 to 6/8/2016
Location: Flagstaff, AZ
The Office of Indian Energy will host a 2-day training for tribes on how to use the System Advisor Model (SAM). Developed by NREL, SAM is a free software tool that tribes can use to analyze the feasibility of renewable energy projects. This training will walk participants through the various technologies that can be modeled in SAM, as well as siting issues, resource characterization, and energy profiles. The training will also cover financing concepts modeled in SAM and how to use them to evaluate a project. The training is geared toward tribal finance officers and professionals who work with tribes. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how to apply financing terms and concepts they are already familiar with to energy projects on tribal lands. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited.
