January 2016 - Switch, a datacenter developer, continues to move forward in its commitment to run all of its data centers on renewable energy. Switch, together with Michigan's local utility Consumers Energy, will power the SUPERNAP Michigan data center near Grand Rapids with 100 percent green power. In a previous announcement, Switch stated it will be using 100 percent renewable energy to power all of its SUPERNAP Nevada data centers, including over 1,000 clients who are co-located at the facilities. The renewable energy will be produced from Switch's new 180-megawatts of solar projects in Nevada. Switch has partnered with local utility NV Energy to use renewable energy from existing facilities in the state.
