AVST Awarded Texas DIR Contract

State Cooperative Purchasing Program for Public Education and Government Agencies

/EINPresswire.com/ -- FOOTHILL RANCH, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/03/16 -- With its long history of serving government agencies and educational institutions, Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) has been awarded a new Texas DIR software contract # DIR-TS0-3414. Operated and administered by the state of Texas, this contract streamlines the buying process for Texas state and local government agencies, as well as K-12 public and higher education systems who acquire AVST's CX-E Unified Communications (UC) solution.

There are many advantages for local agencies and educational institutions to work with DIR contracted vendors, including cost savings and time. When it comes to cost savings, DIR leverages the volume buying power of the state of Texas to negotiate competitive pricing, which translates into a substantial cost savings. In addition, DIR has completed all of the time-consuming procurement work as all contracts have been competitively bid, so agencies and institutions are not required to prepare competitive solicitations or evaluate responses.

AVST has been awarded a new Texas DIR software contract. Administered by the state of Texas, this contract streamlines the buying process for Texas state and local government agencies as well as education institutions who acquire AVST's CX-E solution.

AVST's Texas DIR contract is effective immediately. It includes AVST CX-E, the industry's most interoperable UC platform. CX-E UC applications include unified messaging, secure voice messaging, automated attendant, IVR, mobile client, speech-enabled personal assistant, call center, and notification.

Today, more than 1,400 federal, state and local entities and 1,200 educational institutions rely on CX-E. "We are very pleased to be awarded this new Texas DIR software contract," said Denny Michael, AVST Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The education and government sectors continue to be a primary focus for us, and we look forward to making the buying process as easy as possible."

Texas DIR is just one of several cooperative purchasing contracts that AVST has in place for its CX-E UC solution. Other contracts include:

  • GSA IT Schedule 70 - the largest, most widely used acquisition vehicle in the federal government
  • PEPPM - 30+ year cooperative purchasing program valid across all 50 states
  • NY OGS - streamlines the buying process for New York state agencies, local governments, municipalities, and educational institutions
