Research shows that HSV-1 can be transmitted to the genitals during oral sex.

Herpes labialis, the technical term for oral herpes, usually caused by HSV-1, is the condition that normally causes cold sores and fever blisters. Medical evidence shows that HSV-1 can be transferred to the genitals, causing a form of genital herpes, through oral sex. Research conducted by Lawrence Corey, MD, and colleagues at the University of Washington in Seattle shows that genital HSV-2 recurs 10 times more often than genital HSV-1.” (2)

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that individuals infected with either HSV-1 or HSV-2 take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin against the latent herpes virus.
