Boeing Selects TRU Simulation + Training to Develop Full Flight Training Suite for the 777X

/EINPresswire.com/ -- ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwired - April 19, 2016) - TRU Simulation + Training, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has signed an agreement with Boeing to design and manufacture the world's first Full Flight Simulator (FFS) training suite for Boeing's newest twin-aisle airplane, the 777X.

The multi-year agreement also establishes TRU Simulation + Training as Boeing's supplier for the full suite of 777X flight simulation training equipment. According to Boeing, the 777X builds on the success of the 777 and 787 Dreamliner, becoming the largest twin-engine modern jet in the world.

The initial contract includes development, production and maintenance training for two flight training components, namely a Boeing 777X full flight simulator and a high-fidelity, flat panel classroom trainer.

TRU Simulation + Training will also provide a simulator to assist with Boeing's engineering development of the 777X.

Ian Walsh, President & CEO of TRU Simulation + Training, commented that, "We're excited to further the relationship with Boeing, especially in the context of such an important commercial airline program. Both Boeing and TRU are committed to offering pilots the most innovative technology and high-fidelity training solutions available."

"TRU's customer responsiveness and willingness to partner with Boeing in order to define and meet increasingly sophisticated flight training requirements has impressed us," said Sherry Carbary, Vice President of Boeing Flight Services. "Clearly they have embraced innovation and are reshaping the industry. TRU's work on the Boeing 737Max training suite and their technical capabilities convinced us they are the right partner to develop the training suite for Boeing's next generation twin-engine jet."

The new contract comes a little less than two years after Boeing selected TRU Simulation + Training for the development and supply of the Full Flight Training Suite for the Boeing 737 MAX.

"We are delighted with the continued trust Boeing is placing in our company, which clearly identifies TRU as a leading supplier in the flight simulation + training industry," said George Karam, Vice President and General Manager of TRU's Air Transport Simulation division. "Boeing customers expect the highest standards of innovation, quality, fidelity and safety in their training programs, and Boeing has chosen TRU to provide exactly that. The selection of TRU for the development of the complete flight training suite of the 777X following the 737Max selection is an additional vote of confidence for TRU's simulation technology."
