SkySync Announces Interoperability With Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform
Leading Middleware Solution for Connecting On-Premise Storage, ECM and EFSS Services Is Commercially Available From Microsoft Azure Marketplace
/EINPresswire.com/ -- ANN ARBOR, MI --(Marketwired - March 21, 2016) - SkySync, a powerful middleware technology that enables organizations to tightly-integrate content across disparate on-premises and cloud-based storage platforms, today announced its commercial support for the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
SkySync is now available within the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Customers who prefer to leverage the compute power of Azure can purchase virtual machines pre-configured with SkySync from the Azure Marketplace to meet their file migration, synchronization and/or backup requirements with complete ease.
"As one of the leading public cloud service providers, Microsoft Azure offers customers a cost-effective and highly secure alternative to utilizing in-house hardware," said Mark Brazeau, CEO of SkySync. "By making SkySync fully interoperable with Azure and conveniently available through its online marketplace, we're helping customers slash CAPEX and OPEX costs. We're doing so by eliminating the need for physical, on-premises servers as well as the time and resources required to install applications or agents that, until now, have been the norm to accommodate file migrations."
By deploying SkySync within Azure, customers can migrate or synchronize their content across storage platforms without having to install any software or expand their existing IT infrastructure. Equally important, scalability issues disappear; enterprises are no longer constrained by the capacity limitations of their own hardware.
"Nearly three-quarters of the companies we surveyed in our annual IT spending research plan to increase their spending on cloud services. That's not surprising, given the economies of scale, reduction in Capex, and business agility associated with using cloud services like Azure. And now SkySync is opening the door for its users to take advantage of these benefits," said Terri McClure, senior analyst at ESG. "One of the big challenges in IT today is getting data to where it needs to be while maintaining data integrity. Wholesale content migrations can now be handled with the 'flip of a switch' since SkySync automates and conceals the complexities of managing file logistics and integrity. And security is maintained since SkySync is deployed within the client's Azure domain that is under the direct and complete control of their administrator."
Connecting an on-premises network to Azure is remarkably simple. Once an Azure account is established, customers simply provision SkySync within Azure from the online marketplace and then configure VPN routing paths. Since Azure is pay-as you-go and capacity needs can be adjusted incrementally, CAPEX and OPEX costs are significantly reduced.
