NAV CANADA Reports February Traffic Figures
/EINPresswire.com/ -- OTTAWA, ON--(Marketwired - March 16, 2016) - NAV CANADA announced today its traffic figures for the month of February 2016 as measured in weighted charging units for enroute, terminal and oceanic air navigation services, in comparison to the last fiscal year.
The traffic in February 2016 increased by an average of 5.9 per cent compared to the same month in 2015. Excluding the effect of an extra day for leap year, traffic growth for the month was 2.2 per cent.
Fiscal 2016 year-to-date traffic was 4.0 per cent higher than in the prior fiscal year. NAV CANADA's fiscal year runs from September 1 to August 31. Excluding the effect of leap year, year-to-date traffic grew 3.5 per cent.
Weighted charging units represent a traffic measure that reflects the number of flights, aircraft size and distance flown in Canadian airspace.
