MANCHESTER, Conn., Feb. 15, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lydall, Inc. (NYSE:LDL) today announced that Paul A. Marold, 54, has been appointed President, Lydall Performance Materials.

Mr. Marold will be joining Lydall from his position as the Chief Operating Officer of SONTARA^®, a business division of Jacob Holm Group.  SONTARA^® is a global nonwovens business that produces products used in a wide variety of industrial and medical applications.  Prior to joining SONTARA^®, Mr. Marold held key customer-facing leadership positions at prominent filtration and nonwovens companies, such as CLARCOR, American Air Filter and Ahlstrom Oy, centered around strategic growth and innovation.

Mr. Marold holds a B.S. in Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and completed his post-graduate studies at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.  He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Association of the Nonwovens Fabrics Industry (INDA) and a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Air Filtration Association (NAFA).
