Hendersonville Eye Care Expands Optical Space

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C., Feb. 14, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hendersonville Eye Care announced that the practice is expanding its optical space by approximately 1,000 sq. ft. This expansion will double the optical current size and add two new exam lanes, delivering enhanced personal service with shorter wait times. During the expansion, space in the parking lot will be limited. The expansion will take approximately five months to be completed; work commenced in early January 2016.

“On behalf of our entire Hendersonville Eye Care team, I am excited to announce that our practice is taking an important step forward with a major expansion,” said optometrist Dr. Matthew R. Cannon. “By doubling our optical size, we will be able to better serve our patients by providing a relaxed, uncrowded frame and lens selection experience. The added space will allow us to increase the number of name brand frame choices that are available for patients to choose from. Additionally, the increased number of exam lanes will insure a smooth and efficient flow through the office.”

The expansion is expected to take five months. Work commenced in January 2016 with a tentative completion day of May 2016. During the expansion, patients may experience reduced access and space in the parking lot because of construction equipment. “We sincerely apologize to patients about the reduce parking lot access and greatly appreciate their patience with us during the expansion,” said Hendersonville, NC optometrist Dr. J. Douglas Kilgo. “We endeavor to limit any disruption to our patients’ regular visits to our office in the coming months. We are confident, however, that the end result will be well worth the minor inconvenience.”

Currently, Hendersonville Eye Care provides comprehensive vision care services to patients in Hendersonville North Carolina and neighboring communities. The expansion will allow the practice to continue to provide a high level of service that includes exams and eye disease diagnostic testing. “Regular testing for eye diseases is very important for at-risk populations, especially older adults,” said optometrist Dr. Floy W. Kampe. “Many eye diseases like glaucoma and macular degeneration do not have obvious symptoms in the earliest stages. Consequently, these diseases can only be detected using a diagnostic exam. Early detection is essential to preserve and protect a patient’s vision. Otherwise, irreversible vision loss can occur.”

The practice recommends annual exams for adults over 60 in accordance with guidelines set by the American Optometric Association. The practice also provides pediatric eye exams and recommends all children have a vision exam before beginning elementary school. “Our goal is to detect and correct vision problems as soon as possible,” said Dr. Cannon.

Hendersonville Eye Care services include the diagnosis and treatment of vision problems through a comprehensive eye exam, prescription contact lenses and eyeglasses, and eye surgery. The practice provides pre and post-operative LASIK consultation and care, sports vision testing, vision therapy, and computer vision syndrome treatment.
