Freedom Challenge Clues to Identifying Victims of Human Trafficking. Your Challenge to Help their Freedom:
• Accompanied by a controlling person, boss or pimp; does not speak for self. Avoid eye contact.
• Cannot come and go as they please; Lack control of personal schedule; Do not speak for themselves.
• Work excessively long and unusual hours with little to no breaks.
• Are under 18 and provide commercial sexual acts.
• Lack of knowledge of whereabouts and/or do not know what city they are in or where staying.
• Is not in possession of own identification.
• Bruises: show signs of physical and/or sexual abuse, physical restraint or torture.
• Appears malnourished or is in poor physical health.
• Poor mental health or abnormal behavior. Often are depressed, submissive, tense, or display nervous/paranoid behavior
• Exhibit unusually fearful or anxious behavior after bringing up “law enforcement.”
