Fairfield Dentist Adds New Crown, Bridge Technology
FAIRFIELD, OH--(Marketwired - January 25, 2016) - Dr. Andrew Dine, a dedicated Fairfield cosmetic dentist, has introduced new crown and bridge technology that uses no metal and fits a patient's natural smile.
/EINPresswire.com/ -- Zirconium is an extremely durable material that can withstand immense biting force and teeth grinding or clenching. Dr. Dine said he implemented the material because of its strength and aesthetics.
"Zirconium is not only incredibly strong, but it reflects light in a way that is similar to natural teeth, so people will not be able to tell the difference between the crown and your natural teeth," Dr. Dine said. "Today there's no reason to accept a dental restoration that does not perfectly match the appearance of your natural teeth."
Many traditional crowns are porcelain or porcelain fused to metal. Metal-based crowns are not opaque and often develop a black line around the gumline over time. Zirconia crowns are made from one chunk of zirconium, making them less likely to crack or shatter with pressure.
Zirconium is about five times stronger than porcelain. The crowns are placed like any other crown, and the patient is required to wear a temporary crown while the permanent restoration is being fabricated.
Dr. Dine said the new crowns have the strength of gold but with the beauty of natural teeth.
"We began offering zirconia crowns as a way to depart from metal-based crowns," Dr. Dine said. "Patients love the new look and feel of the crowns, and we're pleased to offer a restoration that will last for years."
Dr. Dine has been in practice for nearly 40 years, serving the communities of Fairfield, Fairfield Township, Middletown, Ross, Hamilton, West Chester, Liberty Township and areas in Butler County, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1971 and Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1976.
His practice -- Clock Tower Place, 1251 Nilles Rd., Ste. 16 -- offers preventive care, cosmetic dentistry (tooth-colored fillings, teeth whitening at the dentist, Sinsational Smile), restorations (dental crowns, dental bridges, root canal procedures and implant-supported dentures) and gum disease treatments. Dr. Dine's practice uses a state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine that provides images instantly, uses 80 percent less radiation than traditional X-rays and does not require the patient to have the uncomfortable X-ray film in their mouth.
Dr. Dine began offering Fastbraces™ in 2014. The brackets used with Fastbraces™ work on a different mechanical principle than that of traditional braces. The patented system uses an innovative triangular bracket and a specially shaped square wire to correct the position of the root and the crown of the tooth from the beginning of treatment. Because Fastbraces™ realigns the root and crown simultaneously, it works in half the time of traditional braces, which realign the two in separate stages.
Dr. Dine recently introduced Invisalign, a system that uses clear aligners to move teeth into a more appropriate position. Instead of brackets and wires, Invisalign uses plastic trays that can be easily removed for cleaning and eating.
Dr. Dine is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor given to dentists who have taken 500 hours of continuing education and passed a seven-hour written examination on all disciplines of dentistry. He is a member of the Ohio Dental Association, Cincinnati Dental Society, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and Better Business Bureau. He also is a founding member of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health.
Dr. Dine makes it his mission to serve all families and patients, which is why his office offers special financing programs for treatment.
