EFSA announces open plenary meetings for 2016
EFSA has set dates for the open plenary meetings of its scientific panels and Scientific Committee in 2016. All plenaries are expected to take place in Brussels to make it easier for observers to participate.
The initiative – inits fifth year – is part of the Authority’s move towards an open science organisation and encourages scientific dialogue with its stakeholders. The response has been positive so far: since March 2012, over 300 observers from industry, academia and civil society have participated in 32 open plenary meetings.
In 2016, EFSA’s Panel on Animal Health and Welfare will be the first to open its plenary to observers. The meeting will take place on 9-10 March 2016 and registration is expected to open in the second half of January 2016.
