All across our great nation, Americans today gratefully acknowledge the service and sacrifice of our veterans. As UAW members, we join with the rest of the nation in remembering those who have so honorably served our nation in wartime and in peacetime.

The best way to honor our veterans is to serve them all-year round. Not only must we make sure veterans’ needs are taken care of, we must also show veterans we are behind them when our political leaders make decisions about funding critical veterans’ services. Our nation’s commitment to those who have served should not end when their service ends.

We know we can count on our UAW locals to continue our tradition of aiding veterans. To them, we say thank you for doing what is right and necessary. Your spirit is truly in the proudest traditions of our union.
